This weekend we headed to Tennessee for my friend Katelyn’s wedding. She got hitched fairly close to my hometown so the Mr. and I decided to head to my parent’s house for the weekend and stay at their house. I always get warm feelings when we are driving through my home state. Tennessee is so gorgeous at this time of year. I needed to get another long-ish run in so Mom and I headed to Fort Donelson National Battlefield. She runs there all the time so it was nice to follow her lead for a while.
The view from the park is something to see. The weather was horrible. It rained and was overcast all day long, so it misted on us while we ran. We got in 8 easy miles. The park is very hilly so it was a nice workout. Neither Mom or I are used to running with anyone else so it was so fun being able to chat while we ran. My hometown is super tiny and there aren’t many stores. We went to the Dollar Store to pick up a couple items. I was hoping to find some throw away gloves, but they didn’t have their winter items out yet. I did pick up a pair of cozy black tights though.
The Mr. and I layered on the clothes for my friend Katelyn’s outdoor wedding. The “feels like” temp was 46 degrees! Katelyn and Rachel were my first college friends. Rachel and I were so happy to celebrate Katelyn’s big day! Here is all of us at my wedding last June and then on Saturday at Katelyn’s wedding.
I have the best friends! We may not talk to each other all the time but when we are together it’s as if time has never passed. We will always be those three fearless girls trying to figure out everything about life. Through all the laughter, tears and craziness we still managed to come out on the other side of it.
After this weekend we agreed to make an effort to see each other at least once a year. It’s insane how quickly the time passes.
Rachel and I cut a rug on the dance floor. Even the Mr. joined in on the fun. The DJ rocked and we had a blast. I am so happy for my friend! Congratulations Katelyn and Seth!
