There is nothing better on a hot day then a drink to cool down your insides. Here in Georgia it gets so hot during the summer time. You may also remember that Atlanta was given the touristy nickname of “Hotlanta” back in the 1980s. The Mr. hates when I jokingly call our city Hotlanta. As an ATL native he almost takes offense. This watermelon slush is great after a long run, day of outside activities or really any other time. It’s super simple to make and comes together so quickly that you will want to start making it throughout the summer.
- 2 cups fresh or frozen watermelon, black seeds removed
- 1.5 - 2 cups unsweetened coconut water
- .25 cups of lime juice
- 2 - 3 tablespoons fresh mint or basil
- 2 - 3 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 cup ice
- Blend and serve.
