It’s almost that time of year again! Here in Atlanta summer comes sooner than in other parts of the country and while I admit I curse how early the summer heat hits us, I am still so excited for our upcoming summer plans.
Even though the Mr. and I travel year round there is something special about traveling during the summer months. Am I right?!
Today I thought I would share some of our plans for this summer.
I’ve spent months planning this trip and I can’t believe it’s almost here. We are spending 9 days in Scotland. I plan to see everything I can. Our trip starts in Edinburgh with the marathon then hops to Dundee, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Glencoe/Fort William, Oban then finishes in Glasgow.
Walt Disney World
No summer would be complete without a quick trip to WDW. Since we are annual pass holders it’s easy to just pop in when we want. The Mr. and I are pretty excited about the new Avatar/Pandora addition to Animal Kingdom and I don’t want to wait until Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend.
Colorado is a summer trip tradition and this year we are going over 4th of July weekend. I can hardly wait! We are spending the long weekend in the Breckenridge area with day trips to Vail and Leadville. Right now the plan is to do a lot of hiking and just enjoy summer time in Colorado.
Last year when we visited Oregon we fell in love and I’m so thankful we are going back this year over Labor Day weekend. Read more about our trip here. I’m running the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon and we are making an adventure out of it. Right now we want to spend a little time at the Columbia River Gorge, hike around Mt. Hood, enjoy wine country on race day then travel south to the Three Sisters and Crater Lake.
Since I won’t be marathon training this summer I plan to spend my Saturdays with the Mr. exploring all sorts of new things. We want to do lots of hiking, maybe some kayaking and might even getaway for a couple weekends.
I can’t wait to see what the summer brings!
