I don’t play into the hype of new year resolutions, but I do think it’s a great time for self reflection. A year is a long time and January is the perfect time to self evaluate.
This year I want to keep things simple.
I want to read at least 3 books in 2018. Right now I don’t make time to read and can’t think of the last time I finished an entire book. I read lots of cookbooks, but not much else. I love reading so I want to make time for it. When the middle of the year rolls around I plan to reevaluate and see if it’s realistic to read more.
This year I want to make an effort to enjoy adventures during the week and do more exploring locally. I think our move a couple months ago and the purchase of a new kayak will really help that, but I want to make a commitment to get out there when I can.
The Mr. and I are really going to focus on our money this year. We do a pretty good job with everything right now, but want to crank it up a notch. Simplifying our money will make our lives less stressful and will allow us to reach some of our financial goals.
Every year I seem to do a little better about granting myself grace, but this year I really want to harness it. Sometimes I can be so hard on myself and often times I am unkind to myself. Self love is a journey and I want to keep travelling down that path.
Time always feels fleeting and I want to strive to be better at managing it. It’s easy to lose time in mindless things like social media so I want to make an effort to be present as possible.
That’s it! Nothing over complicated or full of frills. Just the solid truth about where I am and how I want to self improve in the coming year.
