There has been so much madness swirling in my brain lately and I’ve been Thinking Out Loud about basically everything lately.
We leave for San Francisco in about two weeks. I am so excited for the trip, but also kinda nervous. I will be running the San Fran Half Marathon and don’t really know what to expect. I am planning to use this race as a training run, but I am still debating on setting goals. Sometimes I like to set smaller goals for a run, but I am just not sure yet.
I’m such a Type A planner that it’s ridiculous sometimes. I am still up in the air about our vacation plans which is so unlike me. Should we go to Napa/Sonoma or should we plan to do some hiking? The only thing I know that we will be doing is seeing Muir Woods and Sausalito.
I feel like most people would jump at the chance to enjoy wine country and don’t get me wrong that sounds appealing, but I’m a nature girl. I feel the happiest in the woods or in the mountains. Ugh! The decisions?!
I’m an influencer for Influenster and recently received a complimentary tube of the new YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara in shade #7 I’m The Craze. The shade is a rich deep plum with a hint of shimmer. I am now obsessed with colored mascara again. This reminds me of junior high when I used to wear electric blue and olive green mascara everywhere. Now if Sephora could just keep it in stock so I can buy a couple more shades. #firstworldproblems
I know it can’t just be me, but I am SO over the heat and humidity of summer. Wake me when it’s October?! Not only do I hate sweating along my bra line simply by walking from my house to my car, but getting up at like 5am to start my long run is insane.
To Do List
Every couple months I get really motivated to do some projects around the house which results in the worlds longest and strangest to do list. I wish I could say that I’ve checked off some of the tasks, but alas I haven’t felt quite motivated enough. It seems like every ounce of free time results in relaxing.
Marathons Are Hard
Of course they are, but I often forget that small little detail. I’m in the buildup training block of marathon training and it seems like I forgot how to adjust to that portion of the program. I constantly struggle with balancing the ratio of time and effort spent on running versus the time and effort spent on cross and strength training. I seem to always be hovering over that fine line of too much cross or strength training which results in utter exhaustion for my running workouts.
Have you ever worn colored mascara?
Are you over summer too?
Do you procrastinate on your to do list?
Any tips for balancing cross/strength training with marathon training?
