I can’t believe it’s November and almost time for the Walt Disney World Wine and Dine Half Marathon. The Epcot Food and Wine Festival is always epic, but racing and spending time with my family is a triple threat. My mom and sister will be meeting me in the airport then it’s full steam ahead for an incredible trip of belly laughs, attractions, eats and quality fun.
If you’ve been following along with me then you know I’m not really prepared for this race. I took some time away from training during the summer when we had our house on the market and during the move. It took me some time after we moved in to get settled into a new routine and I’m still working through those growing pains.
I know I will be fine to race, but I wish I felt more confident in my abilities. I’ve raced more on less training, but that isn’t making me feel too much better.
Instead of worrying about all this I’ve decided to live in the moment, run my heart out and enjoy every ounce of Walt Disney World. That’s the best thing to do at Disney races anyways!
Here are my other goals for the race:
Eat All The Food
Part of the fun of this trip is enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. The Mr. and I loved it when we visited over Labor Day weekend so I can’t wait to try new things on this girls trip.
Take All The Pictures
One of the benefits of being an annual pass holder is getting race photos free. I plan to stop for as many character stops as I want and really enjoy the experience without feeling too rushed.
Follow me over on Instagram for all the race weekend and WDW pictures you can stand.
Have you ever felt like this before an athletic event or race? How did it go?
