I’m back from the Walt Disney World Marathon and ready to start sharing recaps. Since I ran the Dopey Challenge (5k, 10k, 13.1 and marathon) I thought I would share a recap from each day. The weekend unfolded to be full of surprises and lots of fun!
The Mr. and I left Atlanta on Wednesday morning and headed straight for the expo. We went in got our bibs, went back to our hotel then headed to Epcot.
We decided to ride a few attractions and eat our favorite counter service meal from Epcot. We are obsessed with the chicken and lamb platters in Morocco plus it was just what we needed after a day of traveling.
Princess Leia is ready to go. We woke up at 3:30am per usual and hit the corrals. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of families and small children that ran the race. It was so nice to see all sorts of people getting out for the race!
The race went by quickly and we had so much fun stopping to take pictures. Epcot was beautiful because it was still dark so everything was lit up.
Character stops are one of the things that makes Disney races unique. We decided to live it up and made quite the morning of it all.
Another perk to being an annual passholder is that race and park photos are included. I think we got some good ones.
We had so much fun! I love racing the short distances at Disney because there is always so much to look at and enjoy.
Afterwards we went to Hollywood Studios to ride Star Tours, naturally 😉
Then got cleaned up and spent the rest of the day at Animal Kingdom. That’s us riding Expedition Everest. No matter what it gets me every time!
Stay tuned for more recaps 🙂
