Be sure to check out my recap of the WDW 5k and read more about my journey to the Dopey Challenge here.
After spending the day at Animal Kingdom, we decided to treat ourselves to a proper meal at Outback Steakhouse to gear up for the 10k the following morning. I got flat Princess Aurora ready to go and we were in bed early.
Those 3am wake up calls sure do come early! The 10k course was beautiful especially at that time of the morning.
The course includes a little bit of highway mileage but mostly runs around Epcot’s World Showcase and the Boardwalk resorts.
Naturally we had to stop and snag a picture with the founding fathers. The line was a little long, but we didn’t mind at all.
The sun was coming up as we were running around the Boardwalk resorts and it was reflecting in the lake. It was stunning and the weather was perfect.
After running around the Boardwalk we stopped to get a picture with Pooh and Tigger since we were nearly on our way to the finish line. It’s also worth mentioning that Pooh gave me a hug after this picture 🙂
It’s safe to say I need a new pose for the camera. Haha. The 10k was so much fun! I really enjoy the shorter races at Disney because the miles really click off because there is so much to look at and so many fun pictures to take. It’s a really relaxed atmosphere and that’s the best!
Each Disney race for this weekend has a character theme. The 10k is Minnie’s race. The medal was polka dot in true Minnie style and even had a little hint of rose gold to it in the sunshine. I also think it’s cute that Minnie is in shorts. #modernwoman
After the race took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. We spent a good chunk of the day there and had so much fun.
I’m so thankful that the Mr. ran both the 10k and 5k with me. It made the whole experience that much more memorable.
Have you ever had this much fun in a 10k?
