After my amazing morning running the Tinker Bell Half Marathon we celebrated with a day of fun at California Adventure. We were sort of disappointed with Disneyland, but were over the moon in love with California Adventure.
Our first priority after downing a coffee on our walk to the park was to find something to eat. I had only snacked after the race and since the Mr. missed me at mile 6, he hadn’t had time to eat breakfast. Needless to say when we made it to the park around lunchtime we inhaled these chicken sandwiches. Only in California will you find you can get fresh avocado puree and roasted red peppers at a burger joint.
We decided that we really wanted to do Soarin, Mickey’s Fun Wheel and the Cars ride. I am pleased to say that we did that and even did Luigi’s dancing cars in Cars Land.
There were also lots of obligatory medal pictures and lots of selfies in front of Mickey’s fun wheel.
It was so much fun! The waiting in line really wore us down, but we still managed to have a blast.
I even got a little peak at the parade as we were walking around. I can’t help it, I’m a sucker for the parades.
I was so tired after my big race, but we took lots of breaks and stopped to eat a lot. I was like a bottomless pit.
Throughout the day we split a delicious espresso sundae at Ghirardelli and shared a mac and cheese cone and pomegranate limeade from Cozy Cone.
I think we could have easily spent a couple days in California Adventure, but with a super early flight the next morning we headed back to the hotel around 6pm. I really wanted to stick it out for the night show, but knew that was basically out of the question. Next time!
Have you ever been to California Adventure? What did you think?
Do you want to eat everything after a race like me?
