We woke up at a decent time and went for a quick shake out run down by the water. It was a great way to start our morning. We got some coffee and then polished off the rest of our Voodoo Doughnuts from the day before.
Today was all about the Oregon Trail, the Columbia River Gorge and more beer.
We hopped on the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Byway and stopped at so many waterfalls and viewpoints. Each one had it’s own personality and it’s own beauty.
These are the views from the Vista House at Crown Point. It was simply breathtaking.
We did some hiking and saw about five waterfalls before we decided to head to Hood River for lunch.
All the stopping and hiking always takes longer than you think. We drove the half hour to Hood River and then waited about 20 minutes before being seating at Full Sail Brewing Company.
This place came with a view as well. I ordered the blood orange wheat ale and the Mr. had their cider. Both were excellent.
We shared an order of their artichoke dip. I had their classic burger with a chicken breast and a side salad. The sandwich was smothered with caramelized onions, smoked gouda and a fancy mayo. Yum!
We had hoped to see Mount Hood on this day, but spent so much time driving around to the waterfalls that it didn’t happen. We turned in early so I could get ready for the Vancouver USA Half Marathon the next day. Here’s the race recap.
