Hi y’all! I hope you are enjoying the holiday season, spending extra time with loved ones and doing all sorts of fun things. The holiday season is my favorite. I love all the festive decor, holiday films, music, activities, and especially the baking.
Here’s what I’ve been loving this holiday season.
Tea and Cookies
This is one of the best simple pleasures. After dinner I love snuggling up on the couch with a couple cookies and a warm mug of tea. There is something so cozy about this!
We threw our first holiday party at our new house this weekend. It was fun! I love giving people an experience. I think when the weather gets cold and the days are short there is nothing better than friends or family to make the time special.
I love baking holiday treats for people I care about then mailing them out. I never tell them I am sending them anything so it’s usually a total surprise. I love this! I like to include a variety of gourmet treats with some usual suspects.
Here are some of the things I’ve been making:
Peppermint Mocha Chocolate Cookies (I add 1 tsp instant coffee and 1/2 tsp mint extract to the batter)
Quick Fruitcake – Don’t be fooled! This variety is Christmas Magic.
We have holiday lights all over our house and outdoors too. I can’t get enough. I brings me such joy to turn them on everyday.
Holiday activities are the best! From the holiday brunch at work to seeing Star Wars and Trans-Siberian Orchestra I’m totally digging all the things.
I’ve been spending a lot of time thinking about the spaces in our house that I’m ready to overhaul. It’s a slow process, but I feel like I’m finally making progress and it feels awesome. You bet I’ve been taking advantage of all the sales to purchase items for the house.
Here are some of the things I’ve picked up.
Baked Camembert Cheese
I’ve always been a lover of cheese, but this stuff is on a whole other level. I like Jamie Oliver’s method and serve it with celery, carrots, radish and breadsticks. Yum! It’s just so cozy.
I hope this holiday season fills you with joy! It’s so important to take time to enjoy the small things and spend quality time with people you care about.
What are you loving right now?
