It seems like forever since I did a check in with you all. Let’s catch up.
We Moved Last Month
It was in the works for a while, but it finally happened. We moved from the city to the suburbs. If you are familiar with Atlanta then you will understand when I say we went from ITP to OTP. We sold our sweet cottage in the city and moved to our dream house in the suburbs. As much as I love the city of Atlanta, I belong in the woods with nature. It was a rough six weeks of buying, selling, packing, praying and moving, but we are finally in our new place and getting settled.
Training for runDisney: Wine & Dine Half Marathon
All the house stuff took a big toll on me and needless to say training took a back seat. I’m working on getting into the swing of running regularly again, but trying not to put too much pressure on myself. I don’t have much time before the half marathon. I know I will be fine when race day arrives, but I’m just not where I thought I would be.
Since the move, I’ve had to adjust to a new morning commute and manage my time much differently. This has been a really big adjustment for me, but I’m hanging in there. One of the reasons we moved was to enjoy more of a simple life and have a retreat to come home to. Even with all the unpacking and home projects we are already starting to feel more at ease just being home. It’s lovely.
I took some time over the summer and early fall to really evaluate blogging and social. I was getting overwhelmed with creating content, not feeling inspired and didn’t feel a sense of direction. I can now say that I am ready to come back and have so many exciting ideas I want to explore. Stay tuned for more lifestyle content!
Even though we’ve moved into our dream house there are still plenty of projects to be tackled. My little DIY heart is so happy to live in a place that we can make ours. The bones of our new place are perfect for us and we hope to live here forever. Over the coming months you can expect to see loads of home projects and room transformations. House projects always leave me so tired, but I’m always inspired for more.
The last two months have been a whirlwind, but I’m so grateful for the opportunities that lie ahead. There is no greater joy than looking at your life with such a peace and thankful heart.
