We woke up and headed to breakfast at LINQ at Hash House A Go Go then we just did basic shenanigans until my sister Blaine’s flight arrived. It was so hot so we basically lived on fresh juice.
Once Blaine’s plane arrived it was off to the Forum Shops for dinner at Border Grill and then walking around.
Las Vegas is absolutely one of my favorite places! What’s not to love?! Shows, great food, shopping and atmosphere. We aren’t really gamblers, but I guess if you are Vegas is your spot. We walked about 40 miles over the course of our trip and thank goodness we did all that walking because we did a lot of eating too. The temp was about 110F for most of our trip, but we didn’t let that get us down.
My sister met up with the Mr. and I for the weekend. It was a true blessing having her come along. Don’t get me wrong. We love each other, but having Blaine their added a great dynamic to our trip. The Mr. and I went for a quick two mile run the first morning and did some additional exercises in the room then were out the door for a delicious brunch at Hash House A Go Go. That was the only stipulation for the Mr. He wanted to eat here at least twice and we did. The rest of the day was spent walking and enjoying the atmosphere of Las Vegas. We were really just trying to kill a little time waiting on Blaine’s flight to land.
Brunch the next morning started off with a bang at HEXX Kitchen. Check out this brunch ya’ll! Carrot Cake Pancakes and Chocolate Pancakes with Caramel Syrup for the win.
Later that night Blaine and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was an amazing show! Kenny is a great performer and the venue was so cozy.
We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo and loved it. It was quiet and the location was ideal. The big casinos are great, but they are so large and busy. We wanted something a little bit more relaxed.
The next day was more relaxed. We hit a juice bar on our way down the Strip for a little natural sugar rush. We got a late start so we decided to do an early lunch at the Shake Shack at the New York New York. We each got a burger, shared an order of cheese fries and some peach lemonade. I was thrilled to see a cheese stuffed portabella burger on the menu.
After walking in the heat for what felt like forever that could only mean one thing…frozen margs! Thanks Margaritaville.
We ended the fourth with a Circe De Soleil show at Treasure Island. It was pretty good, but I think I liked the Beatles LOVE show that we saw last Christmas. The Strip was so packed for the fireworks display that we ended up watching some of it from our room while noshing on pizza.
