I am always looking for new breakfast ideas because I love having something yummy to look forward to after my morning run or workout. I usually prefer a smoothie (like the green one listed below), but lately I’ve been craving all sorts of other tasty things.
I find that when I choose a healthy breakfast I am more likely to eat more mindfully the rest of the day. If I want greens or fruit I eat it, but if I want bacon and pancakes I eat that too. I really try to listen to my body and balance everything accordingly.
For me life is all about moderation and being happy. I want to enjoy mealtime. I used to have a struggled relationship with food and had some disordered eating habits. I would take everything to extremes and that seemed to make everything else in my life challenging. Since I am marathon training, I do try to watch what I eat in some cases because I want to perform and recovery in the best way possible. However, I don’t deprive myself of things that I want to eat either.

Avocado Toast with Tomato
Fresh Lime Juice
Veggie Omelet or Scramble
Thanks to my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship I was given the opportunity to try Bob’s Red Mill protein powders, however all opinions are my own. As usual, I always want to be authentic and honest with my readers. I genuinely enjoy this product and think you might too.
This unique blend is made from pea protein powder, chicory root fiber, chia seeds, beneficial probiotics, and monk fruit extract for a touch of sweetness. It is gluten free, vegan, a good source of omega-3, excellent source of iron, and high in protein and fiber.
Clean Green Protein Smoothie (full recipe below)
Bob’s Red Mill Protein Powder: This stuff is awesome! It’s not too sweet and is vegan and gluten free. I love that chia seeds are already included in the blend and so are probiotics.
*Bonus* Oatmeal Pancake Wraps with Bacon, Egg + Spicy Maple Butter
This is a super indulgent splurge and I am not lumping this in with the other healthy breakfasts! I love this recipe for the oatmeal pancakes and this recipe for the spicy maple butter. You might have already saw me munching on one of these earlier this month.
No matter what your fitness goals are or where you are in your journey I hope these recipes inspire you to try something new for breakfast. Starting your day off with a healthy breakfast is in my opinion the best way to start your day. Eat your greens, get some quality protein and enjoy a little fruit.
Happy Summer ya’ll!
- 1.5 cups water
- 4 cups organic baby spinach
- 2 cups organic baby kale
- 1 large banana
- 1.5 cups light frozen fruit like pineapple, peaches, or mango - this keeps the smoothie green
- 1 tbsp. fresh grated ginger
- 1 serving protein powder (I used Bob's Red Mill unflavored)
