I am an avid shoe rotator. You can read more about the benefits of rotating your running shoes here. One reason that really resonates with me is that your body adjusts in different areas from different styles and models of shoes because each model is designed to compensate for or enhance something different than the next.
Ever since all my weird hip/quad issues earlier this year and the implementation of additional strength work, I’ve been rotating my shoes even more than before. You will probably think I’m nuts when you see how many pairs I am rotating through right now, but whatever. A lot of them I shelved for months, but now they are back in the rotation.
Pearl Izumi EM Road M3 V2 – My full review here! I’ve got two pairs I’m working through. The wide toe box and platform of these shoes are incredible. Also, no one is more sad than me that Pearl Izumi will not be producing running gear after this year 🙁
Brooks Ghost 7 – These were shelved for a while, but now I wear them on my treadmill. I’m a crazy person when it comes to wearing shoes on my treadmill. I’m paranoid about dirt, sand and small rocks ruining the belt on my beloved treadmill so I like to have one pair of shoes that I wear on the treadmill that are clean.
Hoka One One Clifton 2 – My full review here! No other shoe ever beats the cushion of a Hoka.
Hoka One One Clifton 3 – My 2s were getting their wear and I have a lot of marathons to run in the next couple months so I wanted to get another pair broken in. Just got them in the mail yesterday! Woohoo! I will more than likely run Chicago and NYC in these 🙂
Asics Cumulus 16 – These were shelved for a while too, but now I’ve been doing shorter runs in these and I like them. After running in Hokas, every other shoe sole feels hard, but I don’t mind that for shorter runs.
Today I’m linking up with the DC ladies! Be sure to pop over.
Am I crazy?
Are you rotating shoes too?
How many different pairs/kinds?
