Mail fresh from the mailbox is always the best. Sometimes when I order items online and forget about them it makes for the loveliest surprise when they show up at my front door. Reaching into the mailbox or finding a package on your doorstep is almost nostalgic. It takes me back to mail call at all the church camps I frequented as a girl. People would write to use, send us care packages and all sorts of things, but we had to do a cheer or sing a song when they would call our name. Mail call was a fun thing and some groups were known for their signature chant.
The best part is when you didn’t realize you ordered items at the same time or go out of town and then come home to multiple parcels on your stoop. This always feels like Christmas to me. Every box has new treasures, even if you ordered it for yourself.
Here’s a peak at the packages I’ve received lately. Don’t worry, I won’t try to cheer or sing for them.
CANDLES: I like candles year round, but especially during the cold months. I love getting all snuggly on the couch or in bed with a book and a glass of wine. Seasonal candles are my favorite. I picked up these from Kohls because I had a giftcard to use and the scents sounded so woodsy. Who doesn’t love the smell of leaves, pine and crisp fall air. I haven’t burned them all yet, but they all smell simply delightful. The cozy home scent smells like a warm sweater. Oddly enough if cozy was a smell this candle would be it. The woodland trail smells like crunchy leaves with a hint of pine. I also adore the packaging. The copper tops are a nice touch and the illustrations on each one is quite nice. I ordered the large Sonoma ones in Woodland Trail, Cozy Home and Harvest Moon and a little Yankee Candle Autumn Pumpkin.
MOCCASINS: A fall/winter wardrobe would not be complete without a cute pair of moccasins. They are perfect for nearly all occasions. You can dress them up or dress them down. I think moccasins are also cute with fun socks when it’s really cold. I wanted a pair of shoes that were nice enough to wear to work and relaxed enough to wear out on the weekends. Minnetonkas are old school in the best way and this medium grey makes them more versatile than just black.
BULU BOX: It is so exciting receiving a Bulu Box in the post every month. I never know what might be in here, but I love the variety. There is something for everyone and every item is fitness related which is my thing. I will be reviewing every product later this month so stay tuned. If you are thinking about subscribing to a fitness box, this is a great one. I don’t necessary love every item, but each month I am surprised at the items that I really do enjoy. It’s a great way to try out products from different companies without having to commit to a more expensive version. Sorry there’s no picture. This month’s box contained run performance gum, sample pack of jelly belly sport beans, manitoba harvest hemp pr0 70 chocolate protein powder sample, neocell beauty infusion collagen drink mix sample, two free samples of tiger balm, hydrate energy gels, and coupons.
SOCKS: I’m a sucker for running gear. I will not even try to pretend that I know how to walk into a sports store or expo without buying something. Not gonna happen. When I saw these cute Stance socks on Jen’s blog I knew I needed them. They have the most unique patterns and designs. They have everything from socks for everyday to running socks and snowboarding socks. I bought two pairs for me and one pair for the Mr. I haven’t worn them yet, but they are beautiful. I hope I love them because they would make the most perfect Christmas gift/stocking stuffer. I also adore the fact that they are bringing the crew cut sock back. Love.
GRAZE: I love a fun snack and the variety of our Graze box rocks! I love opening the box to see what items they have packed for us. So far the chili lime cashews and fruit mixes have been my favorite. I did a review on Graze a bit ago. You can read about it here.
