Last week was my first week back after the Chicago Marathon and it was a mixed bag. It felt great to be starting a new adventure, but I felt a little sad to be closing the Chicago chapter. As I mentioned last week, I will be running the Wine and Dine Half Marathon soon and Disney World Marathon in January, but will also be running a trail 15K next month. Running trails is like a breath of fresh air and a great way to mix up routine. I feel rejuvenated and ready to pound some pavement and some clay. I wanted to ease back into a training routine, so my goal was to work back into everything slowly.
I’ve been dealing with sinus trouble this week and my allergies have really been killing me. There is nothing worse than feeling like you can’t breathe. I’m hoping that I will start feeling better soon. I can’t be feeling off my game, I need to be training! I didn’t intend on taking this many rest days, but felt like I needed them.
WEDNESDAY: 3.07 miles (12:35, 11:46, 11:30)
SATURDAY: easy 10 miles with the Mr. + 2 mile hike
SUNDAY: easy 5 treadmill miles
This week was a decent first week back of training. I am excited to see where this training cycle will take me and see my progress.
