Happy Monday! Ya’ll know I love to runDisney and there are so many reasons why, but today I want to talk about the Coast to Coast Challenge. If you are familiar with Disney races then you know that they like to include challenges for added fun and of course extra bling. The Coast to Coast Challenge is a challenge where you must run a race at both Disney World and Disneyland within the same calendar year to qualify.
Since I ran both the Walt Disney World Marathon and Princess Half Marathon earlier this year I decided to register for the Tinker bell Half Marathon in May. The Tink Half takes place at Disneyland and I am so excited! The Mr. and I have not traveled to Disneyland yet and can’t wait to see the differences between the parks. Walt Disney World feels like a second home to us so we are pumped to check out Disneyland.
Disneyland offers a great selection of races that are all supposed to be incredible events, but we chose this date because it best fits with other races in my calendar for the year. I also love that it is primarily a woman’s race very similar to the Princess Half Marathon Weekend. I also think the Coast to Coast medal might be pink for running these two races (fingers crossed). Since Disneyland isn’t near as large as the Florida parks we will be making a quick trip of it. We fly out in the early morning the day before the race and fly back the day after the race, but I think that will be just enough time to spend some quality time with the Mouse.
I plan to really put some effort into my costume and would love to be Belle or Ariel. Hopefully time doesn’t get away from me since the race is in like 6 weeks!
I am still not sure if this will be a goal race for me or more of a training run. I run the Knoxville Half Marathon this weekend so that will be a big factor. Either way I can’t wait to visit California and run Disneyland!
Have you done the Coast to Coast Challenge?
Which Disneyland race would you choose?
