Welcome! Every week I recap my training from the week before mainly to help keep me accountable, but also because I like to share. I love to see how others are training, so my hope is that someone might like seeing this as well.
While I am running the Chicago Marathon and the NYC Marathon my training is specifically focused on Chicago because it is my goal race. I am also running other races in other places leading up to the marathon too. Read about my full race calendar here.
Here’s my training plan, but the process is constantly evolving.
This was a solid week! Despite working late every night except Friday in preparation for our trip I still managed to get my workouts in and train.
I did a lot of spinning this week because it’s awesome cross training and helps to stretch me out after a hard workout. I also like that I can watch Netflix while I spin 🙂
PM – 45 minutes of easy spinning + 30 minute dog walk
PM – Mini Band Workout: 10 minutes of walking (forward and backward, lateral and monster walks), 60 side lifts, 60 standing kickbacks
45 Bulgarian split squats
6 Progression Miles on the Treadmill with 2 under GMP (13:59, 13:01, 12:54, 11:47, 11:25, 11:05)
25 minutes of easy spinning
At Work: Jasyoga Hip Strength/Stability, 5 Minute Hip Reset, Align Your Stride + Hand Weight Workout
PM – 5 treadmill miles (3 super hilly miles in the middle) <- These felt challenging because of the incline and my body was tired from Tuesday’s workout
15 minutes of easy spinning
2 easy paced miles
REST – travel to San Fran
REST – met up with friends to explore Monterey
San Francisco Half Marathon – recap coming soon!
Total Miles This Week: 26.1
Total Miles This Cycle: 190.72
I am running for Ronald McDonald House Charities. If you feel so inclined, you can donate here. Every little bit counts and will make a difference to the families served by RMHC 🙂
I am also selling these adorable shirts through TeeSpring. All proceeds benefit RMHC as well. There are several style and color options available. I own the shirt shown above and the bella tank and love them.
How is your training coming along?
