Welcome! Every week I recap my training from the week before mainly to help keep me accountable, but also because I like to share. I love to see how others are training, so my hope is that someone might like seeing this as well.
While I am running the Chicago Marathon and the NYC Marathon my training is specifically focused on Chicago because it is my goal race. I am also running other races in other places leading up to the marathon too. Read about my full race calendar here.
Here’s my training plan, but the process is constantly evolving.
This week was pretty good considering it was a holiday weekend and we spent time in Tennessee.
6 miles of intervals on the treadmill (11:16, 9:36, 10:25, 9:23, 10:24, 9:21) – This is the FASTEST I have ever ran for more than one mile! I am still in shock that this happened.
3 miles of hill repeats on the treadmill – I did .5 miles on a 3% incline, then .5 miles at 0% (12:40, 10:21, 9:32, 9:27, 9:44, 9:17) <– again with the splits! I can’t believe I ran this fast and it didn’t feel impossible.
REST + planks (30secx2 standard, 40secx2 reverse), 50 clamshells and 50 glute bridges
6 easy hilly miles (13:43, 13:25, 12:28, 12:02, 13:12, 12:23)
4.51 hilly miles with my mom + threw hay with my family for 1.5 hours
Total Miles This Week: 19.5
Total Miles This Cycle: 89.7
How is your training coming along?
