Welcome! Every week I recap my training from the week before mainly to help keep me accountable, but also because I like to share. I love to see how others are training, so my hope is that someone might like seeing this as well.
While I am running the Chicago Marathon and the NYC Marathon my training is specifically focused on Chicago because it is my goal race. I am also running other races in other places leading up to the marathon too. Read about my full race calendar here.
Here’s my training plan, but the process is constantly evolving.
I didn’t post an update for Week 10 because there wasn’t much to share. I was really sick after we got back from San Fran and didn’t train at all. I rested up and got ready for this week!
My focus this week was to get some rest and get some miles in. I wanted to get a more solid long run in, but this weekend was weird.
I also started a new diet/lifestyle change. I am now carb cycling and counting my macros. So far I’m loving the approach and will keep you posted on how it goes. Hopefully my lazy thyroid likes it too.
AM: 7 easy miles on the treadmill
PM: 2 easy miles with hill repeats thrown in + evening dog walk
AM: 3 tempo miles plus a warm up and cool down = 5 miles total <– This run was hard. My body was just exhausted and looking back I can tell I didn’t properly fuel the night before this morning run.
PM: 3 easy miles on the treadmill
REST – stayed up way too late on Thursday night watching the Olympics.
40 minutes dog walk + 25 minute light spinning
Total Miles This Week: 25
Total Miles This Cycle: 134.72
I am running for Ronald McDonald House Charities. If you feel so inclined, you can donate here. Every little bit counts and will make a difference to the families served by RMHC 🙂
I am also selling these adorable shirts through TeeSpring. All proceeds benefit RMHC as well. There are several style and color options available. I own the shirt shown above and the bella tank and love them.
How is your training coming along?
