Every year I look forward to Black Friday weekend shopping. During my girlhood, my mom, sister and I would shop every year on Black Friday and the tradition continues. No, I’m not out waiting in crazy lines to save a couple bucks, but I do enjoy spending time with my family and looking for deals on things I need to purchase anyway.
Since we usually do a Thanksgiving lunch, by the time the evening hits we are ready to get out and do something. Now we look forward to shopping the night of Thanksgiving. It also means I sometimes get to spend extra time with my aunt, grandmother and cousins because they usually travel home the morning after Thanksgiving. There’s something so fun about being out all night with people you really care about. Everyone gets borderline delirious from the lack of sleep, there are snacks and everything seems to get funnier as the night goes on. It’s the best.
This year is no exception. I’ve been making a list of items for a couple months that I plan to look for during all the Black Friday sales. I’ve set money aside and know what the regular price is on these items so I will know what kind of deal I’m getting. These are items that have been on my list for a while, but I know will go on sale during the holiday so I’ve been waiting to purchase them.
Last year I bought this model on sale and it has been a game changer. Since moving into our new house, I now realize I would vacuum more if I had one on each level of the house so I’m purchasing another one to go upstairs where all the bedrooms are located.
Cast Iron Cookware
I’m really trying to move away from nonstick cookware and love cast iron, but it can get pricey. I plan on checking a lot of retailers like Williams Sonoma, Sur la Table, Macys, Kohls, etc. to snag some at a more reasonable price.
My love of kitchen gadgets runs deep and I want an instant pot so bad! Like the cast iron cookware, I plan to search different retailers for a great deal. I also expect Amazon will discount these for Cyber Monday so I plan to check there too. I need to determine which model I want, but that should be fairly easy.
Between wearing them year-round to work and wearing them around it seems like I almost always need new pairs. Last year I scored the cutest black booties at Vince Camuto on a megasale so I’m hoping to find some flats on sale this year. How cute are these?!
A few months ago, we moved from a house that was much smaller and I would love to have furniture to fill both of the living areas in our new home. I am looking for a slipcovered sofa for the sitting room and a leather sofa for the family room. My plan is to watch brands like West Elm, Wayfair, Pottery Barn and others for pieces I already want and hope that they get discounted with the holiday sales.
Whether you get into Black Friday or Cyber Monday, I hope you have the most beautiful Thanksgiving with people you love. Time with family and friends should be treasured. Always.
