This year I’ve opted to front load the beginning of the year with races that I can use as part of my training build up for the Edinburgh Marathon. I’m not sure if I want to run another marathon in the fall or if I want to use my fitness and run a summer marathon in a cooler part of the country. We’ll see…
Here’s what I have on tap so far.
3/10 – Berry Half Marathon – Rome, Georgia
The Mr. and I ran this race last year and had the best time. Berry College is gorgeous! The course is challenging, but it’s a wonderful, low key event.
3/25 – Knoxville Half Marathon – Knoxville, Tennessee
This is another repeat race. I ran this race in 2015 and loved it. The course is super tough…oh Rocky Top, but Knoxville is beautiful and I get to spend time with one of my very best friends who lives there.
4/29 – Tacoma Half Marathon – Tacoma, Washington
My sister and her boyfriend will be moving to Tacoma at the end of the month and we can’t wait to visit them. I love the PNW and this race fits perfectly into my race calendar so why not?!
5/27 – Edinburgh Marathon – Edinburgh, Scotland
This is my goal race for the year. After last year’s DNS I am so ready to go back! Read about the DNS here.
That’s all folks! Right now this is my race calendar and it’s pretty full for spring. Not all of these races will be about PRs and goal times because I will use a lot of them as long runs which is how I like it. While I like racing and testing my limits I also really like running for fun without the pressure of time splits.
What’s on your calendar?
